Vodafone Ghana’s quest to become the undisputed leader in the music industry in Ghana has been boosted following its headline sponsorship of the fifth edition of “African Legends Night.”
The “African Legends Night”, organised by Global Media Alliance, is an annual musical concert organised to celebrate African musicians. The event has featured various artistes in the past including South Africa’s Hugh Masekela, Femi Kuti of Nigeria, Freddy Meiway of Ivory Coast, Amakye Dede, Ben Brako, Ofie Kudjo and George Darko from Ghana.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Agnes Emefa Essah, Director of Marketing at Vodafone Ghana said:
“We do this because we are passionate about music. Not just music but good music. We are a brand of many unique aspirations and passions and this is one of the platforms in which our brand finds expression. We always want every opportunity to showcase our contribution and support for the music industry.”
Last year, the telecom company, as part of its sponsorship of the event, treated customers to a great and rewarding time to reaffirm the benefits of being committed to the network.
Edwin Amankwah, a Director of Global Media Alliance said:
“We are happy to have Vodafone Ghana come on board as the headline sponsor. Vodafone has over the years been very supportive of the entertainment industry in Ghana. Whiles Vodafone is not a new sponsor of this event, we are happy that they the headline sponsor this year. The African Legends Night honours musicians who have put Africa’s rich culture and heritage on the global stage.”
Over the years, the event has attracted over 1,000 audience to the nation’s Banquet Hall, State house with soothing, exciting and danceable African tunes.
