YFM’s TJDJ, who has often been described as ambidextrous with the turn tables and hypeman duties has been awarded the Radio DJ of the Year at the Western Music Awards.
The event which was held on Saturday, 7th August, 2021 at the auditorium of Atlantic Hotel saw the likes of Beach FM’s DJ Storm, Nyansapo FM’s DJ Wasty Kay, Ahobraseye FM’s Mr. X, among others contest in the Radio DJ category.
However, TJDJ’s unparalleled dexterity was enough to put him on top of the list of those contesting in that category.
Skilled as a radio host, hype man and DJ, TJDJ has always loved the feeling of getting people hyped by his playlists even at a younger age when he started with limited equipment. He started as a hype man in 2004 after completing high school and got introduced into disc jockeying in 2005 by his uncle DJ Ice.
Today, he continues to serve listeners of Y97.9FM with solid entertainment and great music powered by enormous energy.
Commenting on his award, TJDJ, expressed: “It is a great honour to be adjudged Radio DJ of the Year. I am very passionate about my radio journey and for others to recognize this passion, is a plus that is worth celebrating.
