With its most recent update, WhatsApp quietly launched out the ability for Android users to search for and send GIFs from GIPHY.
WhatsApp recently started allowing its users on both iOS and Android to search for and send the Internet’s favourite format – GIFs. It had also given users the ability to turn videos into GIFs and to send Live Photos as animated GIFs from iOS devices.
Now, the Facebook-owned platform is adding GIPHY for Android users and raising the limit for media sharing – from 10 to 30 files. The specific update is available for users of the WhatsApp beta for Android. If you update your app, you can now find a GIF icon available when tapping to add emoji.
Please do note though, that the feature is in beta, and therefore we don’t know when it will see a general release.
