Black Stars B’ midfielder George Asamoah says footballers need peace and a comfortable atmosphere to operate in every football team they represent.
The Ebusua Dwarfs star was speaking in an interview with Dennis Ivan Opoku on Y102.5FM Monday afternoon concerning the transfer ordeals of football stars around the globe, specifically Lionel Messi’s failed renewal at FC Barcelona.
The Argentine was expected to sign a new contract with the Blaugrana in August but La Liga club management rules made it difficult for the Barca skipper to continue his 21-years stay in Spain.
Reports in France say the Argentine will soon be joining Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer.
“Football players love to have peace and focus on their job. It feels nice to have a family that backs your job and a club that trusts your quality.
“Lionel Messi has stayed at Barcelona for long and it’s all because of the belief and love the people have shown him in Catalunya.
“So for me if I have to stay at a club for long, then it means I’m treated well and given the greatest respect to perform my duty at the club.
George Asamoah is currently training with the Black Stars B team and has gained a lot of interest from top Ghana Premier League sides after Dwarfs suffered relegation in the 2020/21 season.
