Ahead to their crucial match in the ongoing Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament, the Black Stars of Ghana have received a stern warning from Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez.
He claimed that every Uruguayan player will risk their lives to defeat Ghana and, hopefully, advance to the next round.
The former Barcelona star said in a press conference prior to the match on Friday that his nation’s point total makes beating Ghana a necessity.
“We have one point and the final match against Ghana is do and die. We have no option than to win to make our fans happy,” Luis Suarez said.
The Uruguay skipper continued, “We are going to put our lives and soul in this last match, Ghana is a good team but we know them, we have beaten them before and we know how to beat them again.”
“We have watched their video clips and they have a porous defence, we will utilize on that to beat them.”
Ghanaians are however optimistic the Black Stars have been served the perfect opportunity to haunt the South America side following the infamous Suarez incident in 2010.
In the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Uruguay controversially eliminated Ghana.
