The most listened to and authoritative radio station in Takoradi, Y 97.9 FM has launched season 2 of the ‘Y-Discovery’ talent show.
Y-Discovery talent hunt is a show that seeks to outdoor and unearth talented DJs and radio presenters in and around Takoradi.
This year’s edition of the talent hunt show is part of activities lined up to mark the 10th-anniversary celebration of YFM Takoradi. The show also seeks to give back to society for its support and commitment to the urban radio station.
The talent show will run for 7 weeks with 32 finalists and 10 talented individuals who will progress to the grand finale comprising 5 DJ’s and 5 presenters to battle it out for the grand prize. The winners of each category win GHS 5,000 and an opportunity to be employed at YFM.
Programs Manager at Y 97.9 FM, Agyekum Gyimah recounted how supportive the people of Takoradi and listeners of YFM Takoradi had been and assured the upcoming season was going to be very interesting and entertaining.
“We are launching season 2 of Y-Discovery for the people of Takoradi, we have always enjoyed immense support from the people of Takoradi. This is for all of you to feel a part of brand YFM Takoradi’’ he said.
He also encouraged interested participants who are 18 years and above to pick registration forms at the front desk of Y 97.9 FM at the Takoradi Mall or download the form from www.yfmghana.com for free.

Also, note that shortlisted individuals would be called for an in-person audition at the forecourt of YFM studios at the Takoradi mall.
