Y97.9 to introduce talent-hunt segment on Party Pressure

Ghana’s most ingenious and biggest urban entertainment radio channel, Y97.9Fm, come Saturday, the 23rd of May, will be introducing a new 30-minute talent-hunt segment on the Party Pressure dubbed, TJDJ’s Fame in 5.
TJDJ has set out on a quest to find budding artistes, and give them a chance to unveil their stupendous acts to the station’s amazingly vast audience, as well as have their songs included in the YFM playlist for promotion.
The maiden edition of TJDJ’s Fame in 5, powered by YFM Takoradi’s Party Pressure, will commence at 9pm, exactly one hour after the main show, Party Pressure has begun. There will be exclusive features of two of Ghana’s dancehall stalwarts, Jupitar and Epixode on the show.

Agyekum Gyimah, Programmes Manager for YFM-Takoradi, detailed on the ‘wheres’ and ‘hows’ of the show, saying, “TJdJ’s Fame in 5 will be streamed on Instagram live via Yfm’s official Instagram handle @y979fm, hence you get to enjoy the show from the comfort of your home.
All u need to do is follow Yfm on Instagram and turn on your notification so you can receive a reminder once the live feed is up. Simply send a request to join TJDJ between 9pm and 9:30pm, and you will you will be given 5 minutes to perform a live rendition of any of your songs. This will be live on Instagram as well as on radio at Y97.9FM in Takoradi”.
Not failing to hide his enthusiasm and excitement, Agyekum Gyimah, further revealed what informed this initiative. He said, “I know that there are lots of talents here in Takoradi and even outside, who are having a hard time getting into the limelight for one reason or another.
Here at YFM, we care about the young and young at heart and that is why I, together with the Party Pressure team, have birthed this idea to help push our young artistes. I know people are already itching to tap that request button and I personally can’t wait to see all the amazing acts we have, hidden here in Takoradi”.
He urged listeners to get interactive on social media with the hashtags #PartyPressure and #Famein5.
