His agent teased that Yaya Toure was on his way to a Premier League club after passing a medical in ‘London’.

However, it seems that Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenhamfans won’t get to see the former Manchester City player play in the capital after it was reported that Toure actually resigned for Olympiacos, for whom he played in 2005.

The return to Greece marks the end of Toure’s eight year stay in England, during which time the Ivory Coast player dominated the Manchester City midfield, winning three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two League Cup trophies.

Here is all you need to know Yaya Toure including who he is, what is his net worthand what he said about his former manager Pep Guardiola.

What is Yaya Toure’s net worth?

Yaya Toure’s net worth is estimated to be £54.3 million ($70m), according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Toure was reportedly on £45,000-a-week during his time at Barcelona, ultimately leaving the club because the club was unwilling to meet the player’s demand for a 15 percent pay rise.

When Manchester City signed Toure for £24 million, he became the highest-earning Premier League player in history earning as much as £220,000-a-week from his basic wage alone.

His five-year deal added up to £55.6 million and included a £1.65 million-a-year for image rights and a further £823,000 each time City qualify for the Champions League.

By 2014, Toure was the fourth wealthiest player foreign-born player in the Premier League.

In 2015, he was the 83rd highest-paid athlete in the world, according to Forbes.

Toure is expected to earn as much as £2 million after tax in Greece, after he signs for Olympiacos, according to the Mirror.
