Ghana’s leading urban radio station and the official frequency for the “Young and Young at Heart”, Y107.9FM produced four winners at the just-ended 2023 Ghana DJ Awards.
The Annual Guinness Ghana DJ awards held at the Grand Arena, Ghana International Conference Center was created to celebrate and appreciate the talents of Disc Jockeys(DJs) as well as to foster the development of the Ghana music industry by rewarding and celebrating Radio, Mobile and Club Disc Jockeys who have excelled in their fields of endeavor.
Ghana’s most notable Hypeman, Kojo Manuel, the Dangerous DJ, DJ Loft, the versatile DJ Ganj and the music mixing machine, DJ Kess all emerged winners at the Ghana DJ Awards.
The Host of Y107.9 FM’s “Drye of your Lyfe”, Kojo Manuel emerged Master of Ceremony (MC) and Hypeman of the Year.
Kojo Manuel’s highlight of the year was during his epic performance at the Global Citizen Festival in Accra where patrons were thrilled, singing along to his famous tag, “Are You Mad!”
Known for his wild selections on Y107.9 FM-Accra’s morning show #RyseNShyne and Cup and Bass mixtapes, DJ Loft defeated other DJs to become the Event DJ of the Year.
The music mixing machine and DJ for Y109.7FM’s Y Lounge, Nana Kessewa Adu better known as DJ Kess won Best Female Radio DJ of the Year. With her ingenious mixing of music on the Y lounge has continued serving listeners with soothing great music for the drive time.
Meanwhile the official DJ of the Myd Morning Radio Show, known for his ingenious musical mixing that keeps listeners entertained. DJ Ganj was crowned Record Promoter of the Year. Over the years,DJ Ganj has been widely known for his great musical records such as “Gbo.”
