YFM, Ghana’s number one urban, youth and music radio station, proudly announces the second batch of six honorees of #YPOWERICONS2025, continuing to recognise outstanding Ghanaian youth aged 15-35 who are making exceptional contributions across diverse industries and youth development.
Building on the momentum from the first six icons unveiled yesterday, this second wave showcases young leaders who exemplify innovation, community impact, and professional excellence across media, sports, entrepreneurship, and social development sectors.
THE SECOND SIX Y POWER ICONS 2025
PAP JAY (James Yebuah Mensah) – Media Personality & Community Builder
Currently with YFM, Pap Jay has built a thriving digital community of over 100,000 followers across social platforms. He’s a sought-after host and moderator for major events including Betway’s Mentorship Training Program and TEDx Ahodwo. Through his nonprofit initiative “Pap Jay and Friends,” he uses social gatherings to raise funds for community projects while curating The Ghana Premier League Podcast for two consecutive seasons.

DANCEGOD LLOYD – Ghanaian Dancer
Born Laud Anoo Konadu in Kibi, Eastern Region of Ghana, Dancegod Lloyd is a dancer, choreographer, and creative entrepreneur who has elevated Afrodance on the global stage. He co-founded the Dance With Purpose Academy (DWP) in 2017, mentoring young dancers across Ghana and Africa. His international breakthrough came in 2020 when he featured in Beyoncé’s “Already” music video. Known for creating signature dance moves like “Shoo,” “Agbelemi,” “Akiti,” and “Swerve,” he later launched Dance Grow Live (DGL) Academy and ventured into music with tracks like “Sika” and “Corner Der.”

AMA BURLAND – Ghanaian Digital Content Creator
Also known as Princess Burland, Ama Burland is a content creator, entrepreneur, and media personality known for her vibrant presence across Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. She rose to prominence through engaging lifestyle, fashion, and beauty content, often sharing her personal journey and candid moments from daily life. As founder of Diya Organics and salon owner in Ghana, she highlights her entrepreneurial spirit in the beauty industry. In early 2025, she made a bold career shift by enrolling in culinary school to pursue her passion for food, documenting her journey with authenticity and transparency while inspiring others through beauty, business, and now food.

BLACK SHERIF – Ghanaian Musician & Rapper
Born Mohammed Ismail Sherif on 9 January 2002, Black Sherif is a Ghanaian singer, rapper and fashion model who initially gained popularity in 2021 with his song “First Sermon,” released in May 2021, followed by “Second Sermon”. His unique blend of Afrobeats, drill, and Ghanaian cultural influences has made him one of Ghana’s most promising young artists.

EDEM AGBANA – Ghanaian Politician
Edem Agbana is the Member of Parliament for Ketu North constituency and a prominent youth and political activist. As one of Ghana’s youngest parliamentarians, he represents a new generation of political leaders advocating for youth engagement and progressive policies in the country’s governance.

A successful Ghanaian YouTuber and content creator who has gained international recognition for showcasing African culture and stories to a global audience through digital platforms.

ABOUT Y POWER ICONS 2025
This initiative, which began on 25th August 2025, sees YFM unveiling 6 icons daily until Friday across all platforms. Each day showcases remarkable young people who are influencers, thought leaders, medical practitioners, musicians, and professionals across various sectors, all making significant impact in their respective fields whilst inspiring their peers and communities.
As part of Youth Month and an extension of International Youth Day (12th August), which carried the UN theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond”, this initiative highlights young people’s unique role in translating global ambitions into community-driven realities.
