Y 107.9 FM, Ghana’s no.1 urban radio station, today marked the 5th anniversary of the passing of late Ghanaian music star Ebony Reigns. Born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, Ebony was a household name in Ghana and beyond, known for her unmatched voice, iconic showbiz moments and electrifying stage presence.
On this solemn occasion, YFM dedicated the day to remembering and honouring the life and musical legacy of the fallen star.
Throughout the day, YFM on the “Ryse n Shyne” morning show played some of Ebony’s biggest hits and spoke with fans on air about their fondest memories of the star. The station received an outpouring of love and support from fans, who shared stories of how Ebony’s music and spirit touched their lives. Ebony’s untimely death in a car accident on February 8, 2018, was a shock to the nation and her fans around the world. Her passing was a huge loss to the music industry, but her music lives on and continues to inspire new generations of musicians and fans alike.
