Ghana’s number one urban and youth radio station, YFM, is turning up the volume on patriotism and pure homegrown vibes this March with an unprecedented programming decision, 100% Ghanaian music, 24/7, for the entire month.
Dubbed “Made in Ghana Music – 100% Ghana Music Therapy,” the initiative will see the Y-Triangle (Y107.9FM-Accra, Y102.5FM-Kumasi & Y97.9FM-Takoradi) dedicate all 31 days and 744 hours of March to nothing but Ghanaian greatness. From Afrobeats to Highlife, Hiplife to Drill, Gospel to Alternative, if it is made in Ghana, it is on YFM.
As part of activities to mark Ghana Month, the station is intentionally spotlighting and amplifying local talent, celebrating the sounds that define the nation’s culture and global influence. Ghana Month is observed every March to commemorate Ghana’s independence on March 6, 1957, a historic milestone that made Ghana the first sub-Saharan African country to gain independence from colonial rule. Over the years, the month has evolved into a period of national pride, reflection, and celebration of Ghanaian culture, heritage, fashion, food, and of course, music.

For YFM, this is more than a playlist decision, it is a movement. Throughout the month, listeners can expect a dynamic rotation of both legendary and emerging Ghanaian artistes, curated mixes, themed shows, exclusive interviews, and exciting on-air conversations centered on the evolution and future of Ghana’s music industry.
Speaking about the initiative on behalf of the triangle, Programmes Manager of Y107.9FM, Rev Erskine, emphasized the station’s commitment to the growth of the creative industry: “Ghanaian music is not just sound, it’s identity, it’s therapy, it’s power. This March, we’re intentionally locking the dial on our own to celebrate the brilliance, resilience, and global impact of our artistes. The YFM brand has always championed young talent, and this is our bold way of saying Ghanaian music is enough, powerful, and world-class.”
With the tagline “Frequency for the Young and the Young at Heart,” YFM continues to stay true to its core audience, imaginative, ambitious, and culture-driven young Ghanaians who proudly connect with authentic local sounds.
By committing its entire airplay to Made-in-Ghana music, YFM is not only celebrating Ghana Month but also reinforcing its position as the ultimate urban culture station, one that doesn’t just follow trends but shapes them.
