Former Black Stars captain and creative, Asamoah Gyan identified as Baby Jet in music circles has indicated that the amount of support given to Ghanaian musicians is not enough to lift Ghana’s music industry to a global height.
As the speaker of today’s segment of the YLeaderboardSeries on Y107.9FM’s Myd Morning Radio Show, with host Rev Erskine, Baby Jet admitted that winning the hearts of listeners is a time-consuming task. He added that the continuous support of fans and listeners, motivates musicians to dream big and reach for greater stages.
Asamoah Gyan in a whirl of thought, indicated that music streaming charts announce artistes from other countries as those topping listener charts in Ghana. He cited this as a clear example of the lack of support from Ghanaians to the music industry. “Access to music has become very easy; you can just go and your phone and listen. And listening to our artistes’ music is one thing they require of us but even that one we do not do it.”
Asamoah Gyan as a multi-talented personality has made firm imprints of his musical prowess in the Ghanaian music industry with classic hits like African Girls by Castro ft. Baby Jet and Odo Pa by Castro ft. Baby Jet and Kofi Kinaata.
