Ghanaian highlife artiste, Amandzeba Nat Brew says Ghanaian musicians must focus on synergy if they want to “enjoy the success Nigerians” are relishing in the music industry.
Amandzeba who was once an executive board member of Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) appeared on the YLeaderboard Series with Rev. Erskine, where he got personal about the promotion of Ghanaian music and artistes on the international arena.
“How do we get it right? How are the Nigerians getting it right when it comes to music? This is because they are synergizing,” he stated without hesitation.
The highlife legend indicated that by the time the realization hits Ghanaian acts, “it will not be too late but it will be very late, and we will realize all the things which went wrong.”
Reiterating the fact that every single international collaboration or major activity in the creative space involving the African continent has Nigerians at the center of it.
“What can you do in the international arena which doesn’t have the involvement of a Nigerian? They market themselves and make themselves known on the international stage,” Amandzeba said.
Asake, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, alongside other notable figures, are Nigerians who have sold out the 02 Arena.
Medikal recently sold-out O2 Indigo, following in the footsteps of similar feats by other Ghanaian artistes, like Sarkodie and Shatta Wale.
However aside from filling the 02 Arena, the GRAMMYs has also recorded more Nigerian wins as compared to Ghanaians.
