You Might Have Missed Tyson Fury’s Gumshield Message To Anthony Joshua

Fans think that Tyson Fury sent a message to Anthony Joshua through his gumshield during his incredible victory over Deontay Wilder.
The Gypsy King completely and utterly dominated the Bronze Bomber to end his undefeated record and take his WBC world championship in the Las Vegas bout.
Fury not only nullified the threat of the biggest power puncher in the game today, he bullied his opponent throughout and picked up the TKO victory in the seventh round when Wilder’s team threw the towel in.
Fans are now desperate to see the new WBC champion face WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO champion Anthony Joshua in all British heavyweight unification bout and many believe Fury’s green and white Nigeria gumshield was a nod to ‘AJ’.

Joshua is proud of his Naija heritage, having a tattoo of the country on his right shoulder and often spending time back in the African country.
He also gave a response to Fury’s message, taking to Instagram to give his seal of approval and call the lineal world champion a “gladiator”.

Immediately after the fight, the 30-year old’s promoter Eddie Hearn was quick to stress that Fury-Joshua needs to happen next and before 2020 is done.
Wilder has the right to a rematch but in the event he doesn’t want to take up the option for a trilogy fight, Fury welcomes the clash with Joshua.
“If Deontay don’t want the rematch, then let’s go AJ,” he told Behind the Gloves post-fight.
However, with mandatory challengers and other factors, the monumental British world heavyweight title fight could well be delayed for a while.
Here is the current situation in the heavyweight division:
  • Deontay Wilder has a rematch clause that can be exercised in the next 30 days by the Bronze Bomber.
  • Dillian Whyte is mandatory challenger for the WBC title and has been promised that he will have hit title fight in January 2021.
  • Everyone is calling for AJ to fight Fury but the 2012 Olympic champion has mandatory challengers for two of his belts that need to be defended this year.
  • Joshua is likely to face Kubrat Pulev for the IBF title in the first half of this year and must defend against WBA mandatory Oleksandr Usyk later in the year.
  • Charles Martin, who AJ beat for the IBF belt, won a world title eliminator for that title against Gerald Washington on the undercard on Sunday night.
