Hearts of Oak coach, Samuel Boadu is confident his side still has some chances to defend the Ghana Premier League title after draw with rivals, Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

The Phobians played a goalless draw with the Porcupine Warriors in an outstanding Ghana Premier League encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The fixture was not short of entertainment as both sides created numerous goal scoring opportunities in the game but were unable to utilize their chances.

Hearts made their intentions of winning the game clear in the first minutes after Kwadjo Obeng’s strike hit the post who was set up beautifully by Daniel Barnieh. Minutes after, legendary Sulley Muntari came inches close to put Hearts ahead but his volley went over the bar.

Prosper Nartey’s side after a sloppy start took over the game in the early minutes of the second half as Richard Lamptey’s close range effort needed a double save from Richard Attah to prevent Kotoko from taking the lead.

Speaking after the game, Samuel Boadu expressed worry about his side inability to convert their chances but said he is confident they can defend the title.

“The players played very well, the chances that we got, its quiet unfortunate we couldn’t score but there is a hope” he said.

Asked if there is enough room for Hearts to go all the way and defend the title, he said, “Sure, all the clubs are pushing but we have to push harder to reach our destination”

“We have to understand ourselves and be united. if we are able to do that we can go on”

“Though Kotoko is a good side, no doubt about because they are on top of the table after first round. They are a good side but we are struggling but we believe that the day is still young,” he added.
