The home of Korean Pop in Ghana, Pop Central on YFM entertained its avid listeners with a special radio episode dubbed “Wangdom After PartY.”
Aired on Sunday June 13th, 2021, the episode saw the pop show highlight the 6 Korean pop groups that participated in the reality survival show, Kingdom: The Legendary War.
Kingdom: The Legendary War is a television program that aired on Mnet from April 1st to June 3rd, 2021. The program was a battle between 6 K-pop boy groups: BtoB, iKON, SF9, The Boyz, Stray Kids, and ATEEZ. It featured 4 rounds of performances, with the final round being broadcasted live.
The Pop Central special featured a playlist made up of 4 songs from the aforementioned groups. The breakdown of the songs included the debut song of the group, the song recorded for the final stage of the Kingdom competition, and 2 songs voted for from songs recommended by 6 partner fanbases.
The debut songs like BTOB’s Insane, SF9’s Fanfare and The Boyz’s Boy started off the Wangdom AfterPartY. With hits such as iKON’s Why Why Why, Stray Kids’s God’s Menu and ATEEZ’s Fireworks (I’m The One) also playing, the 6 groups certainly proved why they are strong contenders in their fields.
There was also a special segment where the partner fanbases highlighted the strengths and achievements of the competing groups during the show.
