Alliance Française d’Accra, in partnership with Music In Ghana, hosted the 2026 edition of Fête de la Musique, bringing together music lovers, performers, and creatives for a 12-hour celebration of live music and cultural expression.
Held on Saturday, June 20, at the Alliance Française d’Accra Amphitheatre under the theme “Workplace Harmony,” the event transformed the venue into a vibrant hub of artistic excellence, showcasing a rich blend of local and international talent across multiple genres, including Afrobeats, Highlife, Reggae, and traditional Ghanaian music.
Observed globally as World Music Day, Fête de la Musique is a French cultural initiative that promotes free and accessible music for all while fostering cultural exchange and community engagement. In Accra, the celebration lived up to its reputation, drawing audiences from diverse backgrounds to experience a dynamic lineup of performances.
The day also featured talented creatives and bands that delivered stellar performances, weaving the authenticity of Ghanaian languages into every line of their songs. Their performances highlighted the richness of Ghana’s cultural identity and demonstrated the enduring power of music as a tool for storytelling and connection.
One of the highlights of the event was a full-fledged display of music, dance, and theatrics, presented through an array of musical classics spanning different eras and regions of the world.
