Apple iPhone 7 rumor hints at faster battery charging

The Apple iPhone 7 is almost here, so of course the rumor mill is in full swing, and this time the breadcrumbs point toward changes in how the device is charged.
Specifically, the latest, extremely unconfirmed rumor is that the next versions of the iPhone will have improved charging speeds.
News of the supposed new charging speed comes via a tip posted on Twitter that was highlighted by AppleInsider on Monday.
That Twitter user cites what appears to be a Chinese source and included an image of an iPhone 6S logic board next to what is supposedly an iPhone 7 logic board.

Previous tests show that you can charge your iPhone 6 and 6S significantly faster if you use an iPad adapter, offering a 90 percent charge in just two hours, according to tests conducted by iLounge. But if this new rumor is true, such tactics may no longer be necessary.
As usual, since the rumor is unconfirmed, don’t count on this feature to be included in the iPhone 7. However, if you’re currently shopping for a smartphone upgrade, this possible new addition that may come in September is something to consider before making any decisions.
