Kumasi’s No. 1 youth-oriented radio station Y102.5 FM celebrates Area Codes Jam as the biggest non-ticketing concert in Ghana.
YFM Area Codes Jam is renowned for being the biggest non-ticketing community-based concert in Ghana. It serves as a platform to showcase underground talents, providing them with the exposure they need to break into the music industry.
This annual event, which began in 2010, has played a crucial role in discovering and nurturing young talents, providing a platform for artists from various regions of the country to showcase their skills.
During the official launch of Y102.5 FM’s 10th anniversary, Pap J, host of MMRS Y102.5FM, listed YFM Area Codes Jam as a major contributor to the station’s mileage in the region and its impact in the Ghanaian music scene, stating, “Area Codes Jam is the longest serving free consistent concert in the country . This event has been instrumental in discovering and promoting talented artists in the region who have gone on to achieve great success.”
Beyond its musical contributions, Area Codes Jam also serves as a unifying force, bringing together people from different backgrounds to enjoy and appreciate music. This event has helped to foster a sense of national pride and unity.
YFM’s 10th anniversary celebration also includes a series of on-air events and activities, a grand 10 at 10 party on October 12th, 2024. This event will feature some of Ghana’s biggest DJs, providing a night full of music and good memories. Area Codes is coming to Kumasi again on 2nd November and it will be a massive one like always.
