Veteran Highlife musician Akosua Agyapong has made it clear that her personal life is off-limits, saying she has no obligation to answer questions about her marriage during media interviews.
Speaking on JoyPrime TV, the singer revealed that she is often questioned about her relationship with fellow musician Nat Brew, popularly known as Amandzeba, but believes such discussions have nothing to do with her music career.
According to Akosua, she is always happy to speak about her work, achievements and journey in the music industry, but draws the line when it comes to matters involving her family.
She explained that she avoids discussing her private life because she has children and does not want public conversations to negatively affect them.
The veteran musician also criticised the growing trend of interviewers focusing on celebrities’ relationships, arguing that some media personalities asking such questions may be dealing with challenges in their own personal lives.
“Ask me about my music. That’s why I’m here,” she stressed, adding that celebrities should be allowed to keep certain aspects of their lives private.
Her comments have since sparked conversations on social media about whether public figures should be expected to discuss their relationships simply because they are in the spotlight.
