Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Osman Abdullai Ayariga Esq. has announced that the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Development will observe a National Voluntary and Community Service Day on August 1 as part of activities marking National Youth Month.
The NYA boss made this announcement during the official launch of the National Youth Month earlier today at the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Development. He revealed that the day will have other patriotic activities on the sidelines such as tree planting, blood donation, visit to orphanages and correctional centres.
Young people across the country are expected to participate in the nationwide clean-up exercise. The Ministry of Youth will be actively involved throughout the period.
The initiative will be undertaken in partnership with the Ministry of Local Government to promote community service and active youth participation.
