DStv Now Adjudged Favorite Entertainment App Second Running

Consumers in Ghana voted DStv Now as the favorite Entertainment App for the second time in two years, at the 2019 MOBEX Africa Awards. DStv Now is a free app for DStv customers, MultiChoice product, from its Connected Video division which allows subscribers to watch DStv by streaming or on-demand while on the go anywhere in sub-Saharan Africa on up to five mobile devices.
The results are based on unsolicited voting from thousands of consumers in Ghana over a two month period. The MOBEX Africa Tech Expo and Innovation Awards aims at honouring innovations and inventions is organized by Coasters Company Limited. The awards in its fifth year attracts nominations other African countries including Kenya, Nigeria and Senegal.
Presenting the award to Managing Director of MultiChoice Ghana Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, the organisers emphasized the awards seeks to recognize organisations and individuals’ contribution to the development of the ICT ecosystem. CEO of Coasters Company Limited, George Spencer Quaye said this year’s edition of the awards focused on the banking sector, with the objective to engendering confidence in the sector and also embracing the technology.
Receiving the award at a short ceremony at the MultiChoice Ghana office in Accra, Cecil Sunkwa-Mills thanked customers for the confidence reposed in the DStv Now service; saying “as a business we are continuously exploring newer and more convenient ways to deliver great entertainment into their homes and hands of our consumers and families”.
He added, MultiChoice has introduced two self-service Apps (MyDStv and MyGOtv) that allows subscribers to manage their accounts which includes; ability to check account balance, due date, order account resets and clear error codes all from the App.  Explaining with the fast approaching festive season customers will have enhanced visibility of their accounts anytime anywhere from the Apps.
