Ghana FA Resolve To Sack Avram Grant

November 16, 2016
in Sports

The Ghana Football Association has decided to terminate the contract of Black Stars coach Avram Grant following a latest action by the Israeli that has irked the association, and the decision is expected to be made official soon, SportsObama can reveal.
The GFA has initiated steps in terminating Grant’s contract with the Black Stars Management Committee expected to meet the Emergency Committee to sort out the possible ways of reducing the cost of termination on Ghana.
With the impending 2017 African Cup of Nations in mind, the GFA Emergency and Black Stars Committee were believed to be mulling over the repercussions of sacking the 61-year-old but a latest move by Grant has propelled the FA to take this immediate action.
According to SportsObama.com sources, the former Chelsea manager rebelled against the Ghana FA’s order to return to Ghana with the rest of the technical team after the Egypt game, by flying to his base in London.
The FA, according to a deep throat source, forcefully tried to cancel Avram Grant’s return ticket to London on the night of the Alexandria defeat when it became evident he was unwilling to join his technical team to Ghana.
But the former Portsmouth boss thumbed his nose at the GFA’s directive and flew to London, leaving his other technical team members behind.
This unruly move, the source say, is the straw that broke the camel’s back, as the FA has finally resolved to terminate the contract of the coach.
It has been revealed that four out of the five members of the Black Stars management committee have voted in support of sacking the coach following his latest impudence.
Grant was expected to be in Ghana to present his match report to the football association but has flouted orders to as usual, fly back to Europe and this will see him being kicked out of the Ghana job.
The Israeli has come under intense pressure following a string of poor performances that has left the Black Stars’ 2018 World Cup dream in jeopardy.
Ghana have failed to win any of their last five matches, including two matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, that comprised a dull draw against Uganda at home and a 2-0 loss to Egypt in Alexandria last Sunday.
