Leading Ghana digital news company, GhanaWeb has officially expanded into Ghana’s real estate sector with the launch of a new digital property platform aimed at simplifying the process of finding, listing, buying and renting property across the country.
The launch event which was held Alisa Hotel-North Ridge brought together key stakeholders in the housing and property sector, including the Rent Control Department Commissioner, Frederick Opoku, and captains of industry in the real estate industry.

Chief Executive Officer of GhanaWeb, David Antwi explained that rent and property acquisition is gradually becoming an ordeal for many Ghanaians and must be addressed. “Many people have sold lands that don’t belong to them. You are confident the land or the property belongs to you but you realize later that it does not.”
In wake of this, GhanaWeb, leveraging on the trust of the Ghanaian populace have established this platform to make this process as seamless and trustworthy as possible.
Commercial Manager of Ghana Web, Patrice Amegashie in an interview with YFM explained that the platform is a lucrative platform for property owners, investors and real estate developers. The platform offers a wide range of categories that will give each user a range of properties to post on the platform. “Recommend the Ghana Web Real Estate platform to your friends and colleagues in the real estate industry. And keep uploading properties which will be done at a designated fee. But the more you recommend, ut gets to a point where you would not have to be paying anymore because the people you brought onboard are paying in your stead.”
Prominent guest, Rent Control Department Commissioner, Frederick Opoku highlighted the growing role of technology in addressing challenges within Ghana’s housing market.
He however shed light on the importance of transparency and accessibility in the real estate space, noting that digital solutions can help prospective tenants and property owners make more informed decisions.
He also emphasized the need for stakeholders to operate within established regulations to ensure fairness and accountability within the sector.
