Director of Alliance Française Accra, Hélène Geneau-Okutue, has highlighted the potential of Artificial Intelligence as an efficient tool for teaching and learning the French language.
Speaking on Episode 4 of FrancoVybz with host Rev. Erskine, Geneau-Okutue pointed to the growing relevance of technology in education and how emerging digital tools can complement traditional approaches to language learning.
According to her, Artificial Intelligence is already being used within the operations of Alliance Française, serving as a tool to improve the learning and delivery of French language services.
She explained that viewing AI as a tool rather than allowing it to dominate the learning process can help maximise its benefits.
“AI is a tool used to improve your level of French. We use it in Alliance for all our services.”
Despite the need for supervision, the Coordinator of Alliance Française Ghana noted that AI has significant relevance in teaching and learning, providing learners with additional opportunities to practise the language, improve their understanding and engage with French beyond the conventional classroom setting.
She further noted that as technology continues to influence education, both learners and teachers can leverage these tools to make language acquisition more interactive and accessible.
