Reggae dancehall recording artiste, Epixode has advised that Ghanaians celebrate the heroes in the industry before they pass away.
According to him, they’re not being given the support and recognition they actually deserve and those who are mostly remembered and celebrated are those who have died.
Using reggae dancehall legend Samini as an example, he argued that, “Samini has been able to stay consistent in the music industry for over 20years and has still not gained any proper recognition which is bad”.
In an interview with Foster Romanus on e.TV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show he shared, “Someone like that I think should just be honored even if it means still being kept in some categories where he belongs because, he’s been very consistent and they should actually honor him before he dies”.
Epixode noted that, it is important to celebrate our heroes in the entertainment industry before they pass on because, “All these plaques will be useless once they are no more so I feel like it’s time for them to given a lifetime achievement award because even most of them are still relevant in the industry”.
Touching on his current relationship with Samini after they both a misunderstanding some time back, he explained that whatever that was going on between himself and the legend has been solved.
“I was even at his birthday party to perform after which I knelt down to personally apologize to him so he and I are like father and son and it’s rather unfortunate that what happened hit the media so hard and they didn’t understand what was going on so they misinterpreted it and I just had to take that in good faith”, he highlighted.
