I grew up on the NSMQ – Primetime MD reveals

Managing Director for PrimeTime Company Limited, organizers of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), Nana Akua Ankomah-Asare has credited her ability to improve upon the competition year after year to her involvement from a young age.
According to her, prior to joining on as a staff of the competition, she used to go watch it after school.
“I grew up on the National Science and Maths Quiz and we used to go watch it after school. After completing Senior High School, I worked on the show and other television programmes produced by Primetime”, stated on Y107.9FM’s Y Leaderboard Series hosted by Rev Erskine.
After completing Senior High School, Nana Akua had to stay home for a year and started out as an intern at Primetime whilst waiting to enter the University of Ghana-Legon.
Nana Akua had to learn the ropes of the job which put food on her table and dedicated her time and self to know the ins and outs of her family’s business.
“I started out as my father’s Personal Assistant, worked as Admin Assistant, joined the Client Service department and the Editing team. I was being prepped and my mother asked me to go and learn how our living was made, so I spent that time learning at Primetime”, she stated.
The Primetime MD graduated from watching, working on Primetime to actually running it now, and that is why she is said to have been born on the NSMQ.
The NSMQ, which started in 1993 with the aim of promoting the study of the sciences and mathematics while fostering healthy academic rivalry among senior high schools, is the longest-running independent production on television in the country.
