Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has apologised to Stonebwoy, his team and anyone who felt disrespected by her approach in seeking a collaboration with the dancehall artiste, following mixed reactions to her social media appeal for a feature on her song BOSSIT.
In a post on X, the singer clarified that her request was driven by admiration for Stonebwoy and was not intended to disrespect him or his team.
“If my approach made Stonebwoy, his team, or anyone feel disrespected, I sincerely apologise. That was never my intention,” she wrote.
She added that she would not intentionally disrespect someone she admires, urging the public not to turn what she described as a simple collaboration request into a narrative of disrespect.
If my approach made Stonebwoy, his team, or anyone feel disrespected, I sincerely apologise. That was never my intention, and I would never intentionally disrespect someone I have so much admiration for.
Let’s not turn a simple request for a collaboration into a narrative of disrespect. There was no bad blood, no shade, and no hidden agenda. Just an artist expressing interest in making music with another artist. ❤️🙏🏾— QUEENSOLOMON (@sista_afia) October 12, 2026
The controversy follows an earlier post in which Sista Afia urged her fans to tag Stonebwoy repeatedly until he noticed her request for a verse on BOSSIT.
The appeal generated mixed reactions, particularly among some members of Stonebwoy’s fanbase, with questions raised about her approach and the suitability of the proposed collaboration.
While some fans viewed the post as an inappropriate way to approach an established artiste, others suggested that it was a strategy to attract attention to the song and generate publicity ahead of its release.
Addressing the reactions, Sista Afia said she believed the situation was being taken out of context. She maintained that her post came from a place of love and admiration, describing herself as a big fan of Stonebwoy.
“I’m a big Stonebwoy fan, and he knows that,” she stated, adding that she had tagged and reached out to several artistes in pursuit of collaborations.
The singer also stressed that there was no bad blood, shade or hidden agenda behind her appeal, insisting that she simply wanted Stonebwoy to contribute to her song.
Her apology appears aimed at clarifying her intentions and easing the tension surrounding the request, while keeping open the possibility of a musical partnership.
It remains unclear whether Stonebwoy will accept the request or whether an official collaboration will materialise.
