I offered to teach at NAFTI for free – KSM

Ghanaian Director and pioneer of stand-up comedy in the country, Kwaku Sintim-Misa known by the stage name ‘KSM’ has revealed that he once offered to teach at the National Film And Television Institute (NAFTI) for free.
According to him, he offered to do so after he returned to the country upon completing his undergraduate studies in the US.
The actor who left NAFTI after his first year there noted that he felt it was right for him to do so after leaving the school abruptly.
Speaking in an interview with Rev Erskine on Y 107.9 FM’s Myd Morning Radio Show, the actor stated, “When I moved back to Ghana in 1996, NAFTI was the first place I visited and I offered to teach at the school for free.”
KSM added that the authorities of the school were very excited when he made the proposal but he never heard from them again. He jokingly said, “They may have checked my records and found out I left the school without any notice.”
The talk show host and satirist who still stands by his offer said, “now that I am almost retired, I will make it my retirement thing.”
KSM who started his seven (7) character play titled ‘Melo-Madness’ in his early days at NAFTI gained recognition from the US Cultural Attaché stationed in Ghana at the time.
This recognition turned into an opportunity that helped him gain a visa he never interviewed for hence, providing him with the final touch he needed to travel to the US to pursue an undergraduate degree he had earned a scholarship for, abruptly ending his time at NAFTI.
