Nigerian rapper, Eva Alordiah was on Y Lounge with Akosua Hanson and DJ Kess to talk music, life and her mini tour in Ghana.
The ‘High’ hit maker talking about her inspiration as a female rapper mentioned Eminem.
“I was inspired by Eminem in the beginning and coming up I was an angry rapper because I took all that from him. Rappers are generally not angry but when making the song, you have to bring the energy and emotions to the song.
“For the sake of the record, you sometimes have to create imaginary haters so that listeners who relate to the theme you are rapping about can feel it’s real.
“If the song is dark and angry, you have to bring it out with that emotion because you are writing for a section of your fans.
Currently promoting her ‘1960’ album, Eva revealed her music had evolved because of her state of mind.
“My music has evolved a lot because I now write about love, peace, passion and the likes because I’m not angry anymore and I want to be happy.
I don’t even see myself as a rapper anymore, I’m an energy giver and I always want it to be positive energy.
Eva Alordiah will be performing at Zen Garden on Friday, July 27.
