Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur has expressed disappointment with the structure and commercialization of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, stating that the tournament has lost much of the excitement that traditionally surrounds the global spectacle.
The Redemption Valley hitmaker shared his thoughts in a post on X, where he criticized the rising costs associated with the competition and questioned some of the arrangements surrounding the tournament.
“This World Cup is a dub. Not excited to see the games. They ruined it by overcharging for everything.”
The rapper also questioned some of the tournament’s logistical arrangements, stating that “players can’t even be in the host country,”
