Osei Kwaku Vincent, popularly known in music circles as Strongman Burner or Strong Gee, has declared that he is not scared to have a lyrical beef with Yaa Pono.
Doctar Cann asked the rapper during an interview on Happy FM’s Ayekoo After-Drive Show if he will pick up the beef with Yaa Pono that social media is trying to instigate and the rapper replied that he can pick it up because he is not scared of any rapper, however, Yaa Pono is more like a godfather to him in the industry.
Strongman expressed that he knows how good a rapper he is and lists himself among the top 5 rappers in Ghana and therefore, is not scared to beef with Yaa Pono or any other rapper for that matter.
“When it comes to beefs, if I tell you I’m scared of facing someone then I’d be telling lies. I give respect to every rapper but I don’t fear anyone”, he said.
Strongman added, “Pono is among Sarkodie’s batch so he’s a senior in the industry and I respect him. Before I even met Sarkodie, I had already met Yaa Pono. I went to give him one of my songs so that he would record for me but when I got there, he told me he had a show and even took me to Alliance Française and later to Aburi to perform”.
According to him, Yaa Pono even went to the extent of accommodating him in his own home that evening after the show and got him food and drinks as well as a cab to go home with the next day, hence, he has a lot of respect for him.
Strongman however noted that he will only beef with Yaa Pono if the rapper decides he does not want his (Strongman’s) respect anymore. An instance in this case, would be if he wakes up one day to see a new song from Yaa Pono titled ‘Strongman diss’.
