Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Exclusive Events Ghana Limited, organizers of the Miss Ghana beauty pageant, Inna Patty, has enlightened the youth on how to choose their mentors.
She noted that, it is important for everyone especially the youths to have a mentor who can help them in reaching and achieving their goals.
In an interview with Rev. Erskine on Y107.9FM’s YLeaderboard Series, Madam Patty said, “You need to have a mentor to prepare you, today I deal with a lot of women when they come to audition for Miss Ghana. When you ask them who their mentor is, sometimes I’m sad at the names they mention. So, I ask them, what is it about that person that you’re picking because that character is questionable”.
She stated that because of social media, there are a lot of fake lives with no substance which saddens her that people can’t see beyond the facade.
“I’ll like to encourage the youth not to take things in face value. For instance, if you want to be the first female engineer or whatever it is, search. It doesn’t have to be local but search for that person whom you feel has done it in order to choose the right mentor” she said.
The former beauty queen believes that, as a young person, it’s important to have a vision and goals. “You need to have a mentor in whatever field. You also need to study alongside with preparations and planning, so you can be ready for that opportunity”.
