Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Base Dynasty, Dorothy Amuah, has described doing in business abroad as easy compared to conducting the same business in Ghana.

According to her, structures and work ethic outside Ghana are far more advanced and effective, making it easier to run a successful business.

Having moved from Ghana to the UK and then the USA, Dorothy successfully competed and started a career in optometry. After working for a while abroad, she chose to come back to her homeland to create employment.

The entrepreneur sharing insights into her work here in Ghana during an interview with LJ on Y107.9FM’s Leaderboard Series hosted on the Myd Morning Radio Show, said, “the transition to Ghana has not been easy. The work ethic and structure is different. It is easy to establish and expand businesses abroad but in Ghana it is difficult.”

She disclosed that with her businesses abroad are thriving with workers being trusted well enough to take charge when she is away, enabling her to focus on expansions and other businesses.

“But in Ghana, I have to be present and be hands on. When it rains in here in Ghana, I will be at the office but staff will use the rains as an excuse not to come to work. These things make it difficult to do business in Ghana,” she lamented.
