Netizen fans of Kwesi Arthur have confronted Ghanaian rapper Medikal after claims he made of bringing Kwesi Arthur into the limelight through his feature
Medikal in a viral interview explained that his contribution to Kwesi Arthur’s career, specifically on Kwesi Arthur’s hit song Grind Day, boosted Kwesi Arthur’s rise. The comment quickly went viral, sparking reactions from fans and industry watchers. “You see this industry, I put so many niggas on without collecting one cedi.” he stated as a key reason he should be awarded TGMA Artiste Of The Year
Medikal explained that his involvement in the song was never about money, stressing that he intentionally jumped on the record to amplify the reach of Kwesi Arthur and other rising acts at the time, helping position them for their next big step in the industry. “I can mention a handful of artistes I helped while they were coming up without taking any money, Kwesi Arthur, Fameye, Mr Drew, Lalid, Kay So Man, Quamina MP, Kelvyn Boy,” he stated.
While some users acknowledged Medikal’s early support, many others pushed back on the claim, arguing that Kwesi Arthur’s breakthrough was largely driven by his own talent and consistency.
Neither Kwesi Arthur nor Medikal has issued a follow-up statement since the clip began trending.

No disrespect, but Grind Day was already a street anthem before the remix. That’s facts—he built it himself. pic.twitter.com/mBgrxATCrP
