Legacy Girls College, a leading all-girls private boarding senior high school in Ghana, has paid a courtesy visit to Y107.9FM, the leading Urban and Youth Radio station in Ghana.
The purpose of the students’ courtesy visit to YFM was to gain firsthand exposure to how the station operates, to see the day- day activities, meet the people behind the voices they hear, and understand what radio is truly about beyond the microphone.
The students were warmly introduced to the personalities of YFM during an exciting tour to the studio, guided through the daily routines of presenters and producers, and shown the behind-the- scenes teamwork that keeps the station alive, from program planning and live shows to engaging with listeners, giving the real feel of what radio is all about.
Advising the students, The Director for Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC), Dr. Timothy Karikari, said, ‘’No matter how small you are, or how little the space you find yourself in, you can still do great things. It doesn’t take being the best student in class to become great. Look at us here, our media house may be small in space, but from this small room we are able to reach all over Ghana and make an impact. so, remember, no matter where you start, weather big or small, you can rise, you can do better, and you can achieve greatness.’’
