The 25th November, the international Day for the Elimination of Violence, to 10th December, Human Rights Day, marks 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
Join the worldwide movement to end violence by attending a free sex education workshop about consensual sex and rape culture. Dubbed, ‘Let’s Talk Consent’, a gender-based sex education workshop that focuses on respect and human dignity in sexual relationship, as expressed through asking and recognizing consent and non-consent.
Come have heart-to-heart and real discussions about sex, assault and rape. We will be answering questions like:
“Was I wrong to have continued having sex even though she said yes? Wasn’t she playing hard to get?”
“What if we were both drunk?”
“We’ve had sex before, so why is this rape?”
We teach our participants to understand and practice consent in the safest sex spaces, in a bid to reduce gender-based violence and also change misconceptions about rape by providing individuals with education, skills and opportunities.
c3
Panelists for both days are Eli Tetteh (Lecturer, Ashesi University), Esther Armah (Host of The Spin, Starr FM), Kinna Likimani (activist, blogger), Kobby Graham (lecturer, Ashesi University), Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah (Curator, Adventures from the Bedrooms of African Women), and Jessica Horn (feminist Activist and Director of Programmes, African Women’s Development Fund).
Come learn how to participate in ending a Rape Culture!
