Liking the career is not enough; acquire knowledge - Dela Horsu

Marketing Expert and Youth Empowerment enthusiast, Felix Dela Horsu has revealed that success in pursuing a particular career is a joint effort of passion and knowledge of the job.

During an interview on Y107.9FM’s ShoutsonY with host Reggie Reg, the marketer raised concerns about the approach taken by individuals when it comes to picking a career. He mentioned that these choices are usually done from a standpoint of mere admiration. “Maybe we have seen someone, we like the person, but we don’t know what the person has gone through before getting to that stage in the industry; most cases we don’t know the channels we have to use to get to that stage. Young people tend to like people by distance and tend to choose role models by likes.” he explained.

Mr. Horsu mentioned that the early stages of life are the most ambitious days for most individuals but as time goes on, the career paths easily divert and ambitions diminish on account of inadequate knowledge about that career.

The sales expert advised young listeners to be very intentional about their career paths and understand what it entails for efficiency and most importantly success.

The seminar which is scheduled to take place at the Accra Technical University on Wednesday 2, August 2023 at 2:00 pm prompt, is an initiative that seeks to equip young Ghanaians with knowledge and inspiration about various issues that affect them.
