Liverpool’s James Milner was standing in an offside position when Lallana offloaded the ball, but their lead didn’t last long.
Michail Antonio leveled the scoring just six minutes later as his shot deflected off the post and into the net.
It was a deserved goal for the Hammers, who impressed throughout the tie.
Liveprool just couldn’t find a winner in the second period, with West Ham’s determined defending blocking out what would have been a crucial second.
