Lyrical Joe dives deep into 'ENTER' with Kuami Eugene and Grammy Awards dreams

For VGMA 2022’s Best Rap Performance winner, starting the year with a new song is the pinnacle of delight. During an exclusive interview with Brown Berry on the city’s dynamic breakfast show, Lyrical Joe digs into the inner workings of his current single, “ENTER,” which features none other than the Rockstar Kuami Eugene. The chat includes his thoughts on the recently ended Grammy Awards, his musical journey, and hints at upcoming collaborations that promise to take his artistry to new heights.

In the tapestry of Lyrical Joe’s story, the move from local compliment to global recognition exemplifies his passion and creativity. From gracing stages in Ghana to seamlessly freestyling on Tim Westwood’s platform, his path has seen both victories and periods of doubt. Reflecting on his hardships, LJ paints a figurative picture of the difficult route of artistic tenacity, comparing it to the daunting decision of raising an emerging life against the odds.

In the corridors of his childhood dreams, Lyrical Joe harbored a singular ambition: to weave lyrical tapestries as a rapper. His unwavering focus excluded any other pursuit; football and diversions fell by the wayside. Unveiling the alchemy behind his creative process, LJ unveils a simple formula: understanding the essence of the subject matter, whether it’s a solo venture or a collaborative effort, serves as the compass guiding his artistic endeavors.

Regarding future synergies, LJ casts his gaze beyond borders, envisioning collaborating with talents from South Africa’s vibrant scene and Kenya’s musical landscape, citing the likes of Khaligraph Jones as potential collaborators. Yet, his aspirations extend further, embracing the allure of collaborations with luminaries from the UK and the USA. Despite tantalizing prospects, LJ dispels notions of an impending album release this year, teasing instead a trove of surprises awaiting his fans.

In a surprising turn, Lyrical Joe offers candid reflections on the Grammy Awards, eschewing grandiosity for pragmatic optimism. To him, the Grammys stand as just another milestone on the journey, capable of both uplifting and humbling spirits. He contends that Ghanaian artists, fueled by grit and determination, are inching closer to global acclaim, anticipating the day when a compatriot’s nomination serves as a beacon of hope for the collective.

Amidst the discourse, Lyrical Joe’s enthusiasm for his collaboration with Kuami Eugene shines brightly. Beyond a mere feature, LJ sees it as a fusion of musical souls, a symphony of shared vision and boundless creativity. Though recorded in December 2023, “ENTER” lingered in anticipation until January 2024, awaiting its moment to enchant audiences across streaming platforms.

“ENTER” by Lyrical Joe and Kuami Eugene calls out, inviting listeners on a sonic journey through realms of rhythm and rhyme, a tribute to the seamless collaboration of two musical geniuses.
