Director General of National Council for Curriculum and Assessment ,Professor Edward Appiah has disclosed that he picked momentum and inspiration from his late mother.
According to him, he was always challenging himself and didn’t have the chance to give in to the interruptions in life.
“I was always looking at what I can do to better my life. I was challenging myself. I wasn’t deterred by the kind of things that was happening to me” he said.
The Director General recalled best moments shared with his mother indicating that, the strong motivation he derived from her actions which he has held onto till today is what keeps him going.
“My mother died when I was a kid but I still remember some interactions I had with her. My mom was such a ruler who always wants to push to higher heights. She influenced my life in early stages; she taught me some of the things in the scripture. Every morning, she would read the Bible stories and ask me to recite some of the things and she would always tell you you have to go to school you have to get the best and those kind of things”.
“Even though I wasn’t staying with her, for all those times I was always challenging myself to do better. I had challenges but when I had the least chance, I take the book and I don’t pay attention to the noise in my mind” he added.
