When N’Golo Kante’s name was brought up in the whole ‘Football Leaks’ scandal, there was surely a collective gasp from football fans.
Was his good guy image all an act? Had he actually been up to some dodgy stuff? These were just a couple of the questions I had after it emerged Kante set up an offshore company – which is fairly common amongst footballer players and managers.
Many have used it to exploit tax loopholes and there’s been plenty of players who have found guilty of evading tax.
As per Media Part, Chelsea insisted that the Frenchman set up an offshore company, and he initially adhered to their request before refusing to receive his wage through it.

In fact, Kante will now have to pay more tax than global giants Amazon did last year, according to The Mirror, who report the French midfielder will have to pay £6.7 million in tax after signing his new deal.
The report goes on to claim that Kante will pay £564,000 a month in tax income, as well as £305,000 in National Insurance per annum.
