Ghanaian singer and songwriter,Michael Kesse Frimpong, better known by his stage name Kesse, has stated that to be a great musician,one needs to be familiar with musical instruments.
In an interview with Doctar Cann on the Showbiz Xtra show aired on Happy FM, he said: “If you dont play any instrument, you are not a musician. You are a stage performer or an artiste”.
He advised that musicians must “add the playing of an instrument” to their career as it guarantees them a longer stay in the music industry with good melodies and progressions”.
He noted that he has trained himself with the playing of guitar. He narrated that he designed his first guitar and used two to three years to learn how to play the guitar.
Kesse is known for his highlife songs such as ‘Treat her Royal’, ‘Oh Yes’, among others. He also has sung gospel songs such as ‘Mehu Yesu’,among others.
