Serial entrepreneur, Dorothy Amuah, argues opportunity should be the priority of every youth seeking employment and a fulfilling career path.

She believes money is secondary when it comes to career development and advancement.

According to the business woman, opportunity supercedes money and she emphasizes that a unique environment and training will always give one the riches they desire eventually.

“I always tell people it is not always about money. When you go for a job interview look at the environment and situation you find yourself in,” she stated in an interview with LJ on Y107.9FM’s Leaderboard Series hosted on the Myd Morning Radio Show.

Dorothy Amuah, after passing out as an optician, went for a couple of job interviews. In one interview, she was offered a high paying job at a prestigious optometry and eye wear shop and in another, she was offered half of what she was to earn at the former. She chose to work at the less paying place as she was offered the opportunity to gain hands on experience.

She received an all rounded training within a year and never regretted choosing them over the prestigious one.

“Don’t focus on the money but focus on the opportunity. If you focus on the opportunity and are dedicated, the money will follow,” she reiterated.
