Sergio Aguero has reportedly been involved in a car accident that will keep him out of action for up to two months.
The Manchester City striker is reported to have suffered fractured ribs while travelling in a taxi on the way to the airport, following a concert by Colombian singer Maluma, according to Roy Nemer of Mundo Albiceleste.
Nemer went onto say that some rumours have suggested that the only thing that saved Aguero’s life was his seatbelt, although obviously, as is the case with any incident like this, it’s best to take rumours like that with a pinch of salt until anything is confirmed.
Aguero had started the 2017/18 campaign in his customary electric form, scoring seven goals in the opning eight games of the season, helping fire Manchester City to the top of the Premier League on goal difference. Pep Guardiola will now have to rely on the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling, both enjoying prolific starts to the season, themselves, to carry the goalscoring responsibilities for his team in Aguero’s absence.Manchester City are yet to officially comment on the severity of Aguero’s injuries, which are currently rumoured to be fractured ribs.
