The Boardroom Governance Summit (BGS) Africa 2026, originally scheduled for 7 October, will now take place on Thursday 12 November 2026 at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra, under the theme “Board Committees: From Oversight to Impact.”
The decision follows consultation with principal partners, speakers and guests of honour. Interest in the summit has grown well beyond expectations, with most of it now coming from outside Ghana. The additional weeks will give chairpersons, directors and governance leaders from across the continent time to secure travel and visas to Ghana.
“What began as a Ghanaian gathering now belongs to the whole continent,” said Ing. Prof. Douglas K. Boateng, Founder and Convenor of BGS Africa.
“The rest of Africa is coming to Ghana, and we want to receive our fellow Africans properly. A short delay is a modest price for a summit that is better prepared, more inclusive and truly continental in reach.”
The organisers confirmed that the summit is going ahead and has not been cancelled. All registrations and tickets already issued remain valid, and delegate benefits are unchanged: summit access, breakfast and lunch, a complimentary copy of Practical Perspectives on the Committees of the Board, and CPD recognition for members of partner institutions. Sponsorship and partnership benefits remain in place, and delegates unable to attend on 12 November are entitled to a refund.
