Ghanaian environmental advocate and community campaigner, Togbe Ghana, has released a new environmental awareness campaign song and music video titled “USE THE BIN,” to promote responsible waste disposal and inspire collective action for a cleaner Ghana.
The campaign is spearheaded by “Let’s Go Clean the Beach – Clean Water and Sanitation”, a community-focused initiative committed to cleaner beaches, responsible waste management, access to clean water, and healthier communities.
MUSIC WITH A MESSAGE
“USE THE BIN” leverages music and visual storytelling to deliver a simple but powerful message: “waste belongs in the bin – not on our streets, in our drains, on our beaches, or in our waterways.”
The campaign aims to make environmental responsibility inclusive and actionable for all – children, youth, schools, families, businesses, and communities.
According to Togbe Ghana, the project goes beyond music:
“We want every Ghanaian to understand that keeping Ghana clean starts with each one of us. If you have waste, use the bin.”
FROM BEACH CLEAN-UPS TO A NATIONAL MOVEMENT
Togbe Ghana’s work has included sustained beach clean-up exercises and public education campaigns to protect Ghana’s coastal environment.
The “USE THE BIN” campaign expands this effort from clean-up to prevention – encouraging citizens to stop littering at source before waste reaches beaches, drains, and water bodies.
The broader vision includes:
Plastic collection and sorting for recycling, creation of green jobs, planting and maintenance of coconut trees, and promotion of digital waste management through the WasteGoGh App.
LINKED TO WASTEGOGH APP
A key component of the initiative is the “WasteGoGh App”, designed to help households and businesses schedule waste collection and connect recyclable materials to recycling centres.
The campaign promotes a circular model:
USE THE BIN → COLLECT → SORT → RECYCLE → KEEP GHANA CLEAN.
This approach seeks to make environmental protection a daily community practice, not just an occasional exercise.
CALL FOR PARTNERSHIP AND SPONSORSHIP
Togbe Ghana is inviting corporate institutions, banks, media houses, NGOs, schools, environmental organizations, philanthropists, and well-meaning individuals to support the campaign.
Partnership and sponsorship will support beach workers, plastic collection and sorting, environmental education, coconut tree planting, nationwide promotion, and the continuous development of the WasteGoGh App.
Media partnerships are also sought to broadcast the “USE THE BIN” music video across Ghana and beyond.
A NATIONAL CALL TO ACTION
The release comes at a time when waste management, plastic pollution, choked drains, and protection of beaches and waterways remain critical national concerns.
Togbe Ghana believes lasting change requires both institutional action and individual responsibility.
The message is simple and actionable:
USE THE BIN. KEEP GHANA CLEAN. PROTECT OUR BEACHES. RECYCLE OUR PLASTICS. PLANT MORE TREES.
