Africa’s first ever appointed professor extraordinaire for supply and value chain management, Prof. Douglas Boateng is set to launch the world’s most-sought after Supply Chain Management (SCM) compendium on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Labadi Beach Hotel.
The Second Edition of the book titled “Executive Insight Series: Compendium of Supply Chain Management Terms” contains thousands of definitions to help the public and private sector officials understand and apply aspects of the supply chain management thinking to  their respective value chains, support industrialisation and competitiveness, and improve service delivery quality.
Commenting ahead of the launch of the over 900-page book, Prof. Boateng said “It’s a quick and easy reference to important supply chain management terms and definitions for all functional specific professionals: Accountants, Lawyers, Engineers, Manufacturers, Constructors, Procurers, Logisticians, Technologists, Politicians, Healthcare practitioners, Marketers, Financiers, Researchers, Academics, Students to name but a few.”

Prof. Boateng mentioned that the oversubscribed first edition proved an invaluable reference for C-suite executives, operations practitioners,  policy makers and students. To date, it is still the only known ‘all-inclusive’ SCM guide in the world. “The highly popular second edition presents an improved and updated version of current leanings in the supply chain space.”
The compendium has been supported and endorsed by leading public and private sector organisations across Africa including and in South Africa and Ghana: the Association of African Business Schools, the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, University of South Africa (UNISA), UNISA Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL-UNISA) South Africa’s State Enterprises Procurement Forum (SOEPF), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the United Nations World Food Programme, among others.
A line-up of corporate, public and private sector big wigs are expected to grace the launch.
