CIES have used a new algorithm to calculate the potential price tag of the top players in Europe’s big five leagues – the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1.
The formula takes into account a swathe of variables such as age, their contractual status, minutes on the pitch, goals, international status and their club’s results.
In the overall rankings – factoring in every position – PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe has been named the most valuable player in the sport, with CIES suggesting that a staggering £225million would be required to tempt him away from the Ligue 1 champions.
